Sunday 5/6: ...when begging for food goes a bit too far.

Monday 5/7: I heard green onion stumps can regrow if placed in water. Turns out it is true.

Tuesday 5/8: Two thank you's come in the mail, but I preferred the hand written one.

Wednesday 5/9: Picture day at work, so I snapped this test shot. Thanks to the "posterize" effect on my camera, I was pleased with the result.

Thursday 5/10: We went to This American Life Live. The show was in New York and beamed to movie theaters nationwide! I loved everything about it.

Friday 5/11: Dinner at Shapiro's

Saturday 5/12: First outdoor farmer's market visit this year.

My Week in Pictures 04.29.12 - 05.05.12

Sunday 4/29: I was seeking a shirt with a pocket and a friend said she had seen one at Wal-Mart. I could not find such a shirt, but I did find these horrid #1 Step Mom and Mama Bear tees.

Monday 4/30: REI ended up having a good selection of pocketed shirts! Great success!

Tuesday 5/1: Went to the dentist. No cavities!

Wednesday 5/2: Spied this specimen as we left work. I thought he had a unique look.

Thursday 5/3: I bought these shoes on impulse at the Mini Marathon expo. I was so excited that they were half price so I was optimistic that I could wear the wrong size. They had to be returned.

Friday 5/4: Preparing for the race!

Saturday 5/5: Pre-race with Carolyn. It was a hot and muggy day, and I was so overheated I was grateful simply to finish. At one point I accepted a handful of ice from a stranger, put some in my mouth and stuffed the rest into my clothes.

My Week in Pictures 04.22.12 - 04.28.12

Sunday 4/22: My mom always told me I should be very ashamed to have a hangover. But since I only have one every few years, I will admit that I felt like a deflated balloon the day after Brooke and Justin's wedding. I hung out in bed and watched a lot of Hulu. Wendy was terribly bored.

Monday 4/23: After ignoring the garden since last fall, we discovered that our thyme, cilantro and parsley were exploding. I had no idea they come back on their own.

Tuesday 4/24: I'm backed up on my library reading again.

Wednesday 4/25: From the Seemed Like A Good Idea at the Time files, I had a sweet potato for lunch. It was extremely filling, and undoubtedly healthy. But I got super hungry by 2:00.

Thursday 4/26: We went to Bier Brewery's tasting room for a special event which featured two food trucks. Wendy is so attached to Brenden and me that she would pull terribly if we didn't stick together.

Friday 4/27: I was dozing off and suddenly opened my eyes. I had forgotten to take a "picture of the day"! So, here's what it looks like right before I close my eyes.

Saturday 4/28: Playing Monkey in the Middle with Wendy and Brenden. Wendy always has to be the monkey.

Sunday 4/15: An early dinner at Skyline with Patti, Dad, and Brenden to complete Brenden's birthday week.

Monday 4/16: Noticing a text from a friend who didn't make it into my new phone's address book.

Tuesday 4/17: Susan keeps me company while I cook.

Wednesday 4/18: Wendy strikes an adorable pose.

Thursday 4/19: Waiting for Lauren to pump gas, I spy one of the business near work that I like to make fun of. I keep joking that I'm going to go to their weekly drum circle in my work clothes. Awkward!

Friday 4/20: Lauren buys craft supplies and I have craft envy.

Saturday 4/21: Brooke and Justin's wedding! I didn't get a good picture of the groom, so here is the beautiful bride with two of our former coworkers (yet current friends) Mark and Brad.

My Week In Pictures 4.8.12 - 4.14.12

It was a week to celebrate!

 

Sunday 4/8: I came across this old hat while cleaning out the coat closet. Perfect! I don't always wash my hair on Sundays and needed a disguise while out walking the dog!

Monday 4/9: Team photo! (I have the best team at work.)

Tuesday 4/10: A little black bean burger action for dinner. On weeknights, it's an assemble-it-yourself kind of deal.

Wednesday 4/11: Brenden bought himself a bag full of snacks at Trader Joe's. He wanted me to try these seaweed snacks. Barf, no way!

Thursday 4/12: I was so proud that I got a Kindle for Brenden's birthday; he's been reading the Game of Thrones series nonstop! Alas, he opened it the next day and rejected it.

Friday 4/13: A simple meal at Fat Dan's for Brenden's birthday. 

 
Saturday 4/14: Brooke's bachelorette party. Sometimes it's nice to have a little bawdy fun with the girls.

My Week In Pictures 4.1.12 - 4.7.12

A few days off restore the soul.

Sunday 4/1: Hung out with Brooke and a few of her friends. We had brunch and some did tasks that needed to be tackled before her wedding.  We tied ribbons, assembled picture frames, stamped gift bags, and cut paper.

Monday 4/2: I was feeling crazy and made dessert on a weeknight. Strawberries romanoff, for the win!

Tuesday 4/3: Brenden keeps forgetting to take his stash of tinned fish to work for lunch. Better for him to have fish breath at work than at home with me, I always say!

Wednesday 4/4: Turning my alarm off, because I have Thursday and Friday off! (I won that clock at the Marion county fair in 1996-ish. Wow, still ticking.)

Thursday 4/5: Hair do! I am splurging on some color after months of restraint.

Friday 4/6: I'd eat more fruit if I could get Whole Foods to cut it up so beautifully for me every day.  Gorgeous! "Fruit, Y U be $8 a bowl when peeled and chopped!?"

Saturday 4/7: I got a hankering for some 1990's comedy, and Coming To America was only $5 at Target. I saved it to watch after my 15k race on Saturday. Yup, still ridiculous. Eddie looked so young!

My Week In Pictures 3.25.12 - 3.31.12

It was a week of firsts.

Sunday 3/25: First grass mowing of the season. This is the best our yard will look all year. The tree and the tulips are blooming.

Monday 3/26: Brenden and Wendy wrestle when he gets home from work.

Tuesday 3/27: Our neighbors has a sewer problem. That mound of dirt was easily 6 feet high. I wanted to send them a condolence card!

Wednesday 3/28: What to do when you have a blemish on your chest? Wear a pendant necklace, of course!

Thursday 3/29: My coworker in the distribution center models an incoming shipment. He shaves his head every spring - it's the only haircut he gets all year.

Friday 3/30: Brenden and I tried Korean food for the first time. Here are the 9 side dishes and a random sauce they brought us. Our palates were not accustomed to this cuisine. In other words, I didn't care for anything in this picture.

Signs of Spring are everywhere!

 

Sunday 3/18: Wendy gets her first haircut of the season.

Monday 3/19: The beauty of this tree in my neighborhood was fleeting; within a week the blossoms were gone.

Tuesday 3/20: One of the departments at work celebrates birthdays by playing a prank on the birthday-haver. I would be pretty grumpy about having the clean up the contents of the shredder on my birthday.

Wednesday 3/21: It was a hard week at work, I wasn't sleeping well, and then I had a meeting at night. This is what it starts to look like in my kitchen when I'm too broke down to clean.

Thursday 3/22: Brenden and I share fruity candies atop the bed after work. (Note the dog body in the upper left.)

Friday 3/23: Brenden's former coworker, Nikki, and her family visited for dinner and a few games. These girls are a delight!

Saturday 3/24: My toes emerge for spring and get their first coat of You Don't Know Jacques.
